As my final project in the BFA program at Utah Valley University, I decided to create a children's book. Even to this day, I have a strong interest in childhood development and before settling on graphic design as my chosen field, I was considering going into elementary education. So when deciding what to do with my final project—and after brainstorming and making countless lists—I decided to connect these two interests.
Glyph's Guide to Typography teaches children in a hands-on way the basics of typefaces and the anatomy of type. It was assembled by hand with removable, magnetic pieces. The book was displayed at a Bachelor of Fine Arts Graphic Design Show that I hosted along with 8 other graduating students in April 22nd, 2017 at the Bright Building in Provo, Utah.
